The first inaugural meeting of the Griffith Pioneer Park Museum Committee was in 1967, with the aim to establish a museum to commemorate the life and times of the Griffith region. The Museum officially opened on the 12thApril 1971 and has since grown to feature over 40 original and re-created buildings.
